This mixed-media reminds me of a tapestry. The technique I used is mokume gane, which is adapted from a unique Japanese metalworking procedure in which layers of material are compressed and formed into patterns; tissue-thin slices from this block are then applied to raw clay to create intricate and unique patterns.
The dimensions are 1 3/4 x 2 1/4.
If you must wash it, do it by hand and line dry; it won't withstand dry-cleaning.
The shank on the back is guaranteed not to fall off, but I've included instructions on removing shanks in case you would prefer a flat back.
